He Is Faithful That Promised

Let us hold fast the profession of our faith without wavering; (for he is faithful that promised;) Hebrew 10:23

It strengthens me to know that I am in your thoughts. I always think of ya'll too.

I am finally sitting in a house with light bulbs glowing. I found that I was able to withstand a heat index of 105 without air conditioning. But the first thing I turned on was central air, hahaha. Electricity came back on saturday evening at 8:06 p.m. I have to stock up on more batteries and candles. I will not be buying anything perishable until after all hurricanes are gone. I don't want anyone else to have to suffer through a hurricane but I hope Ike and all other hurricanes go in another direction.

It was a very scary day monday, september 1st. This is the first time that I saw so many utility poles snapped in half along with the trees. More trees came down around me, not from my property but they fell onto my property. Again I was blessed with no damage to the house. Every one in the family was blessed, no property damage or physical harm.

I have had an unplanned vacation from work without pay of course. Sleeping till eight and nine in the mornings has been real pleasurable. The daycare reopens tomorrow morning.

Now when Jesus saw great multitudes about him, he gave commandment to depart unto the other side. And a certain scribe came, and said unto him, Master, I will follow thee whithersoever thou goest. And Jesus saith unto him, The foxes have holes, and the birds of the air have nests; but the Son of man hath not where to lay his head. And another of his disciples said unto him, Lord, suffer me first to go and bury my father. But Jesus said unto him, Follow me; and let the dead bury their dead. And when he was entered into a ship, his disciples followed him. And, behold, there arose a great tempest in the sea, insomuch that the ship was covered with the waves: but he was asleep. And his disciples came to him, and awoke him, saying, Lord, save us: we perish. And he saith unto them, Why are ye fearful, O ye of little faith? Then he arose, and rebuked the winds and the sea; and there was a great calm. But the men marvelled, saying, What manner of man is this, that even the winds and the sea obey him!
