He Is Faithful That Promised

Let us hold fast the profession of our faith without wavering; (for he is faithful that promised;) Hebrew 10:23

October has slipped up on me. This year is almost over and it feels like we just celebrated christmas. We had one morning in the 40's and it helped me remember that I still need to get some kind of emergency heat for when the electricity goes off. I had tried using a tiny propane heater and you had to really be sitting practically on top of it to feel the heat. This year I am considering a kerosene heater.
I thought the insecticide had cut the frog population in half. The other day I did notice that tiny ones are hopping through the grass. Used to be you only saw them after dark. Now I am seeing them during the day. Gotta come up with a new plan.

There hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it.< /p>

Two weeks ago a coworker was hospitalized because her legs went numb. The doctors found an inoperable mass around her spine. She was told it isn't cancer. I don't know all the medical terms but she is getting some kind of treatment and therapy and has regained a little use of one leg and feeling in the foot of the other leg. We all have been helping cover her job praying she will be able to come back to work
Since the hurricane I have been over run by tree frogs. They have moved onto my house and car. One evening my son was here and he counted thirty frogs on the front of my house. I have sprayed with insect repellent hoping that soon there will be no food for them and they will leave. They are one of my phobias. My heart does a flip-flop every time I see one.
With the small drop in temperatures I am ready for soups. And of course turning the oven on and doing some baking. I have been looking for new recipes. I like trying new soups. A dessert I like eating and baking is apple crisp. My new favorite fruit crisp recipe is blueberry crisp.  I had never thought of using blueberries in a crisp. A coworker brought blueberry crisp to work to share with us and it was delicious. I haven't mastered adding a link to this new blogger thingy or I would share the recipe. It is worth googling if you love blueberries or fruit crisps.

I apologize for taking so long to post. I appreciate all the thoughts and prayers. Hurricane Isaac just didn't want to leave Louisiana. I was shocked when the remnants of Isaac circled and came back to the Gulf. I think I remember one storm backing off of Louisiana, sitting in the Gulf, restrengthening and coming back on land. I could be wrong; I've been wrong before.
I thought and hoped the hurricane would take these love bugs away from my house and yard. But they were back with a venegeance when the winds died down. I have no idea where the little stinkers weathered the hurricane. I think I would plan a counter attack if I knew their hiding place. They are still just as plentiful.
I didn't receive any damage with this storm but a tree fell on my neighbor's house. He is filing a claim with FEMA because he doesn't have home owner's insurance. He was at home but in another part of the house away from the falling tree.
I didn't get two weeks of 9-5 work hours. The first week we closed  three days for the hurricane and the second week we closed for Labor Day. I did enjoy the days I got off at five. My co-worker is suppose to be back to work next week.
My raise is all ready being put to use. My home owner's insurance premium went up because I used it I guess and by raise covers the increase.

Praise ye the Lord. Praise God in his sanctuary: praise him in the firmament of his power. Praise him for his mighty acts: praise him according to his excellent greatness. Praise him with the sound of the trumpet: praise him with the psaltery and harp. Praise him with the timbrel and dance: praise him with stringed instruments and organs. Praise him upon the loud cymbals: praise him upon the high sounding cymbals. Let every thing that hath breath praise the Lord. Praise ye the Lord.

We are going into the last week of august. Isaac is bearing down on us. Hope the winds don't pick up speed.

I actually received a ten cent raise at work. I am bringing home twelve more dollars a month. I am just going to put it in savings, find a way to put it to good use.

The love bugs are worse than I have ever had to deal with. I sweep off the front porch and the next time I look it is covered again. The posts and railings are black with them. You can't put your foot down on the porch without crushing lovebugs and getting that stinky smell they leave behind.

Next week my work hours are nine to five. A coworker's husband is in the hospital and the director is moving people around to cover her schedule. I am going to enjoy getting off at five while I can.

The rainy season is upon us here; it rains every evening. It helps bring the heat index down for a little while each day. This is the first year in quite a while that I don't have rain coming through the ceiling.

My doctor has me on three prescriptions and my blood pressure is in the 120 range most of the time. Usually when I am at home.

Two weeks ago I had a week off from work. I had too many vacation days left and I had to use them or lose them because they don't roll over. I usually use them for sick days and this past winter I stayed well. I didn't have any plans made because I was called into the office and told if I didn't want to lose them I had to take the following week off. I absolutely enjoyed just being home and not watching the clock. I am looking forward to the time when I won't have to have a job. That week was the most relaxing week I have had in a long time.

But as it is written, eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him. But God hath revealed them unto us by his Spirit: for the Spirit searcheth all things, yea, the deep things of God.

Happy Fourth! July is here and the year is going into it's second half. With temperatures in the hundreds and the heat index in the hundreds too, it has been really hot.

Tomorrow it is back to the doctor for me. My blood pressure is still not where the doctor wants it to be. I am curious as to what I will be told this time.

Another weekend and this month is almost over. The heat is miserable with the heat index in the hundreds. We have a storm in the gulf. Time to restock the storm survival kit.

When the contractor rebuilt my front porch, he built a ledge around the porch ceiling. There is a little bird that comes to roost around seven every evening in a corner of the ledge. It hasn't built a nest, it just sits on the bare ledge. I have never seen this before.

The icky tree frogs are loving the ledge on the porch too. I hate having to go out the door at night because there might be one above the door. Or above the steps. It is horrifying. If I am out late and come home after dark the frogs are everyone. I rush onto the porch hollering and hopping trying to get the door unlocked and get into the house.

My doctor increased the milligrams of my blood pressure medicine. My numbers were still high.
