He Is Faithful That Promised

Let us hold fast the profession of our faith without wavering; (for he is faithful that promised;) Hebrew 10:23

Finally got dad to the doctor. He has pneumonia. The doctor wanted him to go to the hospital but he refused.

Mom got upset because dad told the doctor it was her fault he was sick. Said she kept the house too hot. The truth is he won't let her run the heater much because the electric bill will be too high. I try to explain to mom that she shouldn't take what he says to heart. I know it's hard, she is with him twenty four hours a day. And he is a disagreeable person. More so since he has gotten older.

I have heard a beautiful song this christmas season, Breath of Heaven. I consider it more than a christmas song. It touches my soul. It is a song I will listen to all year. I hope you will enjoy it also.

Hold up my goings in thy paths, that my footsteps slip not. I have called upon thee, for thou wilt hear me, O God: incline thine ear unto me, and hear my speech. Shew thy marvellous lovingkindness, O thou that savest by thy right hand them which put their trust in thee from those that rise up against them. Keep me as the apple of the eye, hide me under the shadow of thy wings,

Merry Christmas everyone!! Christmas has come and gone here. Windchill was 34 today. I shouldn't moan and groan about the temperature because so many other places are really cold. It is too cold for us in the south.

Dad has a cold. We are trying to keep it from turning into bronchitis. He is fighting us every step of the way. We ask him not to go outside because he refuses to put a jacket on. He says he is not cold he doesn't need a jacket. We are pushing the fluids because he is taking a decongestant. He says he is not thirsty. Mom is getting worn out with the constant bickering with dad. She calls us to help convince him to do the things he is suppose to do and is refusing to do when she tells him.

Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you: For every one that asketh receiveth; and he that seeketh findeth; and to him that knocketh it shall be opened. Or what man is there of you, whom if his son ask bread, will he give him a stone? Or if he ask a fish, will he give him a serpent? If ye then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children, how much more shall your Father which is in heaven give good things to them that ask him? Therefore all things whatsoever ye would that men should do to you, do ye even so to them: for this is the law and the prophets.

Where has the year gone so fast. I can't believe next weekend is christmas. I still have two gifts to buy. I am never ready. Always running around on christmas eve. I haven't decided on what to give mom and dad. Every time I came up with an idea, the next time I visited I would find out they bought it for themselves.

I am mostly well. I still get coughing spells occasionally. My kids at daycare are coughing and have runny noses so I figure before winter is over I will probably be sick again. I wash my hands and take vitamins, doing what I can to stay healthy.

In answer to grannybird's question, mom and dad live in a nice neighborhood. We don't know why they have been singled out. Last week their mailbox was knocked off the post again. The policeman who came out made the comment that he had replaced his fourteen times. I don't think he realized the comment did not bring comfort to my mom. It made her feel worse to think they were going to have to keep fixing the mailbox.

Mom's last blood test showed her blood sugar levels were up. We are working up new menus to help watch sugar. She doesn't eat much so we couldn't figure where the carbs were coming from. Her only treat was coffee with sugar and coffemate. She seems to think that caused the change in her blood work so decided she needed to stop drinking her coffee. I am trying to convince her to keep the one thing she enjoyed and we can make a few changes like adding real cream instead of the coffeemate which is made from corn syrup. She is doing real good with her renal insufficiency diet. Now she has to monitor sugar.

How amiable are thy tabernacles, O Lord of hosts! My soul longeth, yea, even fainteth for the courts of the Lord: my heart and my flesh crieth out for the living God. Yea, the sparrow hath found an house, and the swallow a nest for herself, where she may lay her young, even thine altars, O Lord of hosts, my King, and my God. Blessed are they that dwell in thy house: they will be still praising thee. Selah.

December, almost christmas; as usual I'm not ready. Thanksgiving came and went, I went to my sister's house. We went to mom and dad's that following sunday. They don't much want to celebrate holidays.

The first time the weather drops into the thirties I get sick. When I didn't get my usual spring cold, I thought I was doing great. When fall came and I didn't get a cold, I was really ready to shout. Well I now have sinusitis and bronchitis. The doctor said if I had waited a couple more days it would have turned into pneumonia. I am on four medicines. I had to make a chart to help me remember to take them. Of course they are to be taken at different times. I don't know how I am going to do all this at work next week.

Mom goes for more blood work monday morning. They had began to calm down after the fire and burgalries and their mailbox being stolen twice when now they have to worry about exploding plastic bottles being placed in mailboxes. That is the newest thing that is happening in the area. Chemicals are placed in the bottles and when they are moved they explode. I don't understand someone wanting to cause harm to another person.
