He Is Faithful That Promised

Let us hold fast the profession of our faith without wavering; (for he is faithful that promised;) Hebrew 10:23

Weekends disappear way too fast. Before I know it, monday rolls around again and I have to be in the two year old class. The only good thing is that I am only in the room from seven to twelve.

This morning I woke up and looked at the clock and it was 6:05. I panicked, thinking I forgot to set the alarm and had overslept. Then I started backtracking to what I was doing the night before and finally concluded it was not monday morning but sunday morning and I relaxed. Goodness me, I was glad to have one more day off.

Thursday I went to the dentist because of a broken jaw tooth. It is one that has been filled since I was thirteen. I embarrassed myself by telling the receptionist that the broken tooth was an old tooth. hahaha All my teeth are the same age. I guess I was thinking of when it was filled; my cavities and fillings are different ages.

I also picked up my new eyeglasses last week. I would have waited on getting a new prescription if I had suspected having to make a special trip to the dentist. But the tooth broke a week after my trip to the optometrist.

Nothing new to report about the job search. I have passed the word around to friends and family but there isn't much I have the skills for except minimum wage jobs. Most jobs around here, you have to have an inside connection to get hired. There are fast food jobs that pay more than I am making but you only get twenty hours a week. I would have to get another job and be working two jobs to earn enough. I know a lot of people that have to do this but I hope I never have to do it.

Everything that could bloom has opened up with color all around neighborhood. It is so pretty and colorful now. My wisteria and azalea are gorgeous this spring.

I will greatly rejoice in the Lord, my soul shall be joyful in my God; for he hath clothed me with the garments of salvation, he hath covered me with the robe of righteousness, as a bridegroom decketh himself with ornaments, and as a bride adorneth herself with her jewels. For as the earth bringeth forth her bud, and as the garden causeth the things that are sown in it to spring forth; so the Lord God will cause righteousness and praise to spring forth before all the nations.

Happy Easter, everyone. When I woke at 6:30 this morning, I said a prayer of thanks for the death and resurrection of our Saviour, Jesus Christ. He lives! Thank you, God, for loving me.

My three day weekend is over. boohoohoo I really enjoyed everyday. I didn't do any thing different; I was content. I spent today with my sister and her family. They fried catfish and had hush puppies, coleslaw, potato salad, and green bean casserole. All of it was delicious.

I called about a job opportunity this past monday. My daughterinlaw found out about it and called and told me. I turned it down because the lady wanted to pay me minimum wage of $6.55 an hour. I am on the look out for better employment.

In the end of the sabbath, as it began to dawn toward the first day of the week, came Mary Magdalene and the other Mary to see the sepulchre. And, behold, there was a great earthquake: for the angel of the Lord descended from heaven, and came and rolled back the stone from the door, and sat upon it. His countenance was like lightning, and his raiment white as snow: And for fear of him the keepers did shake, and became as dead men. And the angel answered and said unto the women, Fear not ye: for I know that ye seek Jesus, which was crucified. He is not here: for he is risen, as he said. Come, see the place where the Lord lay. And go quickly, and tell his disciples that he is risen from the dead; and, behold, he goeth before you into Galilee; there shall ye see him: lo, I have told you.

I know it has been awhile since I posted on my blog. Last week I kept writing and deleting and I finally just signed out. Everything I write seems pointless and unnecessary. I get up and go to work; come home, eat, go to bed, get up and do the same all over again. The only thing that changes is what I eat and what show I have on the television.

My son started me blogging to help me sort my thoughts out. At the time I had a tumor on my parathyroid. I didn't know that was what was causing me to feel out of sorts. Any way, I don't have much to write, like I did when I first started blogging. During that time I was writing and blogging all during the day, every day.

What I want to mention is the diminished bird population in my area. There are hardly any birds left. At first I was thinking it must be the bird flu; but I haven't found any dead birds and no one in the area has been hospitalized with the west nile virus. I have done a little research and I think I have discovered the cause. In 2006 hawks started nesting in the woods across the road from the house. From what I have read, I understand that they eat birds. I am assuming that is why birds are almost non existence. I have identified these hawks as "cooper's hawks".

Cooper’s Hawk (Accipiter cooperii)

Diet: mostly small birds; occasionally small mammals and reptiles
Habitat: mixed and coniferous forests
Range in Louisiana: all except coastal parishes
Abundance: rare during summer, uncommon at other times

The fear of the Lord prolongeth days: but the years of the wicked shall be shortened. The hope of the righteous shall be gladness: but the expectation of the wicked shall perish. The way of the Lord is strength to the upright: but destruction shall be to workers of iniquity. The righteous shall never be removed: but the wicked shall not inhabit the earth.
Proverbs 10:27-30
