He Is Faithful That Promised

Let us hold fast the profession of our faith without wavering; (for he is faithful that promised;) Hebrew 10:23

This weekend is practically over, just a few more hours left.

Yesterday I had to turn on the air conditioner for the first time this year, the heat index went into the nineties. Every thing has greened up so wonderfully and the creepie crawlies have stopped flying through the air on their webs. It is so unnerving to be standing in the yard and suddenly this big fat caterpillar comes out of the sky and is dangling in your face. I can't help it; I run screaming. I did this when I was little and I have not out grown the problem. My dad would get angry with me and tell me I was lots bigger than that caterpillar or lizard or frog or worm or bug. My brain tells me that but I still can not control what ever it is that takes over by body and sends me running and shrieking.

Teach me thy way, O Lord, and lead me in a plain path, because of mine enemies. Deliver me not over unto the will of mine enemies: for false witnesses are risen up against me, and such as breathe out cruelty. I had fainted, unless I had believed to see the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living. Wait on the Lord: be of good courage, and he shall strengthen thine heart: wait, I say, on the Lord.

The teenagers who had been burglarizing my parent's neighborhood have been arrested. They told the police that they set the shed on fire because they were bored. Mom and dad are still scared. They are still taking turns sleeping at night so that someone is always "on guard" as mom calls it. The boys took mom and dad's mailbox because they could. According to the teenagers, they tried other mailboxes but my parent's came out of the ground easily and every body else's didn't.

I pray that mom and dad will get back to feeling safe and comfortable.

Truly the light is sweet, and a pleasant thing it is for the eyes to behold the sun: But if a man live many years, and rejoice in them all; yet let him remember the days of darkness; for they shall be many. All that cometh is vanity. Rejoice, O young man, in thy youth; and let thy heart cheer thee in the days of thy youth, and walk in the ways of thine heart, and in the sight of thine eyes: but know thou, that for all these things God will bring thee into judgment. Therefore remove sorrow from thy heart, and put away evil from thy flesh: for childhood and youth are vanity.

Another week into the future and I definitely feel older. We are already into the fourth month of this year. Time is passing so quickly.

The weather has been wonderful in my little corner of the earth. I only have to turn on a fan to stir the air and create a light breeze inside the house.

My mom and dad are having troubles in their neighborhood. There have been burglaries. A weird coincidence, two weeks ago the house on the left of them was broken into and my parents' mailbox and pole was taken. Last night the house on the right of them was broken into and the shed set on fire and my parents' new mailbox and pole was stolen. I am worried about why these thieves are doing this to my mom and dad. Please pray for my mom and dad and the families in their neighborhood.

The word which came to Jeremiah from the Lord, saying, Arise, and go down to the potter's house, and there I will cause thee to hear my words. Then I went down to the potter's house, and, behold, he wrought a work on the wheels. And the vessel that he made of clay was marred in the hand of the potter: so he made it again another vessel, as seemed good to the potter to make it. Then the word of the Lord came to me, saying, O house of Israel, cannot I do with you as this potter? saith the Lord. Behold, as the clay is in the potter's hand, so are ye in mine hand, O house of Israel.

Happy Easter!

And when the sabbath was past, Mary Magdalene, and Mary the mother of James, and Salome, had bought sweet spices, that they might come and anoint him. And very early in the morning the first day of the week, they came unto the sepulchre at the rising of the sun. And they said among themselves, Who shall roll us away the stone from the door of the sepulchre? And when they looked, they saw that the stone was rolled away: for it was very great. And entering into the sepulchre, they saw a young man sitting on the right side, clothed in a long white garment; and they were affrighted. And he saith unto them, Be not affrighted: Ye seek Jesus of Nazareth, which was crucified: he is risen; he is not here: behold the place where they laid him.

Today was the first day of my three day weekend. Yea, I have two more days to enjoy! Of course I have thought about Jesus all day today. I have sung and hummed my favorite hymn all day.

HE LIVES

I serve a risen Saviour,
He's in the world today;
I know that He is living,
Whatever men may say;
I see His hand of mercy,
I hear His voice of cheer,
And just the time I need Him
He's always near.
####Chorus:
He lives, He lives, Christ Jesus lives
today!
He walks with me and He talks with me
Along life's narrow way.
He lives, He live, salvation to impart!
You ask me how I know He lives:
He lives within my heart.

In all the world around me
I see His loving care,
And tho my heart grows weary
I never will despair;
I know that He is leading
Thro' all the stormy blast,
The day of His appearing
Will come at last.
####
Rejoice, rejoice, O Christian,
Lift up your voice and sing
Eternal hallelujahs
To Jesus Christ the King!
The hope of all who seek Him,
The help of all who find,
None other is so loving,
So good and kind.

And at the ninth hour Jesus cried with a loud voice, saying, Eloi, Eloi, lama sabachthani? which is, being interpreted, My God, my God, why hast thou forsaken me?And some of them that stood by, when they heard it, said, Behold, he calleth Elias. And one ran and filled a spunge full of vinegar, and put it on a reed, and gave him to drink, saying, Let alone; let us see whether Elias will come to take him down. And Jesus cried with a loud voice, and gave up the ghost. And the veil of the temple was rent in twain from the top to the bottom. And when the centurion, which stood over against him, saw that he so cried out, and gave up the ghost, he said, Truly this man was the Son of God.
