He Is Faithful That Promised

Let us hold fast the profession of our faith without wavering; (for he is faithful that promised;) Hebrew 10:23

The director of the daycare put a message about cellphones in the envelope with our pay checks.

I am not a person that leaves my phone on all the time. I carry mine, turned off, for emergencies and I use it to make long distance calls. My coworkers are using theirs constantly, talking or text messaging. My feeling is if you need to contact me while I am at work, call the office. I remember the time when we could not receive non-emergency calls during work hours. Now it is acceptable to be using phones nonstop.

Even parents come to the daycare talking on their phones. They push the children through the door and turn to leave, continually talking on the phone. When they come to pick them up, they don't stop talking on the phone. I have observed children at the daycare of all ages, playing by holding toys against their ears with their shoulders and pretending to talk on phones.

I want to share this message with everyone:

Ever wonder what would happen if we treated our Bible like we treat our cellphone?
What if we carried it around in our purses or pockets?
What if we flipped through it several times a day?
What if we turned back to get if we forgot it?
What if we used it to receive messages from the text?
What if we treated it like we couldn't live without it?
What if we gave it to kids as gifts?
What if we used it when we traveled?
What if we used it in case of an emergency?
This is something to make you ask...hmm...where is my Bible?
Oh, and one more thing.
Unlike our cellphone, we don't have to worry about our Bible being disconnected because Jesus already paid the bill. And no dropped calls!
I hope it makes you stop and think where are my priorities?

I am glad the weekend is here. Things are pretty much back to the daily routine, I go to work, come home and eat, go to bed, get up and start all over again.

The annoying love bugs are swarming again. And the mosquitos are bad since the hurricane. I am glad cooler weather has reached us. Fall is here and winter is close at hand.

The cooler weather makes me want to get in the kitchen and cook. I am going to fix some "smashed" potatoes. I had garlic smashed potatoes at a deli and I loved them. I did a little googling and found this recipe.

UPDATE: I tried the recipe and it turned out really delicious. If you are a garlic fan I recommend this dish.

For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. For the scripture saith, Whosoever believeth on him shall not be ashamed. For there is no difference between the Jew and the Greek: for the same Lord over all is rich unto all that call upon him. For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved. How then shall they call on him in whom they have not believed? and how shall they believe in him of whom they have not heard? and how shall they hear without a preacher? And how shall they preach, except they be sent? as it is written, How beautiful are the feet of them that preach the gospel of peace, and bring glad tidings of good things!
Romans 10:10-15
