He Is Faithful That Promised

Let us hold fast the profession of our faith without wavering; (for he is faithful that promised;) Hebrew 10:23

These cooler days are wonderful. My electric bill has dropped too. That is another blessing.

Yesterday my hot water heater was finally fixed. I have been heating water for three weeks like my ancestors had to do before the invention of hot water being piped into our homes. I surprised myself by being up to the task. If it came down to it, I could continue to do this. It was easier for me because I could heat the water on an electric stove. If I had to do it with wood fires, it would be a bigger challenge.

Dad fell again but luckily just had scrapes and bruises. His blood pressure is high again so his doctor put him back on blood pressure medicine.

Mom's creatine levels were high on her last blood test. I'm hoping that if she stays stricter with her special diet that the level will go back down. If not she will have to start dialysis.

But ye, beloved, building up yourselves on your most holy faith, praying in the Holy Ghost, Keep yourselves in the love of God, looking for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ unto eternal life. And of some have compassion, making a difference: And others save with fear, pulling them out of the fire; hating even the garment spotted by the flesh. Now unto him that is able to keep you from falling, and to present you faultless before the presence of his glory with exceeding joy, To the only wise God our Saviour, be glory and majesty, dominion and power, both now and ever. Amen.

Weekend is here and it is october 1st. In the morning the temperatures will be in the forties.

Everything went okay at work. The allergy alert is displayed. The director said that a privacy policy states that we are not suppose to display a child's name. My thought was and is that is the most stupidest policy I have ever heard. This is a life threatening situation. Every worker needs to know if a child has any kind of allergy or how can we keep them safe. The director said we can display the allergy alert with the parent's permission. I believe she should automatically ask permission when told that a child has life threatening allergies.

GOD-GIVEN THORNS

Strange gift indeed – a thorn to prick,
To pierce unto the very quick,
To cause perpetual sense of pain;
Strange gift! And yet, was given for gain.

Unwelcome, but it came to stay;
Nor could it e’en be prayed away.
It came to fill its God-planned place –
A life-enriching means of grace.

O much-tried soul, with fainting heart,
The thorn with its abiding smart,
With all its wearing, ceaseless pain,
Can be the means of priceless gain.

And so whate’er thy thorn may be,
From God accept it willingly;
But reckon Christ, His life, His power,
To keep thee in the trying hour.

And sure – thy life will richer grow;
His grace sufficient will bestow;
And in heaven’s morn thy joy will be
That by this thorn He strengthened thee.
