He Is Faithful That Promised

I am wondering if we will ever have a break from this heat. Some remarks I have been hearing is that the end times are here and the world is going to be destroyed by fire and that is related to the higher temperatures the earth is having now. I do believe that is partly true.

I woke saturday morning with a stuffy nose. Thursday I wore sandals to work and ended my work day having to walk to my car through standing water after a thunderstorm. I should have known better but it is so hot that I wanted sandals on my feet. My coworkers wear flip flops even during winter. I don't wear flip flops; I like wearing sandals occasionally.

I think I have conquered my coughing. One of my coworkers told me her doctor told her to take one mucinex in the morning and one benadryl at night every day. She had been like me; coughing constantly. I realized that it had been a while since I had heard her coughing. I started taking the pills and it is going on a month without me coughing.

Dad is starting to have trouble swallowing. This is another phase of the parkinson's disease. His therapist has shown him some exercises to help with this phase but dad's is not doing them. The doctor told him when his esophagus muscles stop working the next step will be a feeding tube. But dad says they don't know what they are talking about. We have talked to him about taking smaller bites and eating different foods than what he is always wanting. He remarks that mom is cooking the food too long and it is dried out and that is what is causing him to choke. It is very frustrating.

July is here and the heat index stays over 100 till around eight every evening. I am looking forward to fall.

Today I enjoyed watching little mockingbirds learning to fly. The parent birds had built a nest in a tree right by the porch. I was sitting drinking a cup of coffee on the porch when I noticed a lot of movement in the tree. The little birds were going from branch to branch. Then the parent birds flew into another tree and the little birds followed. Each time the parent birds flew a farther distance the little ones followed. They made a circle and ended back to the nest. It was a pleasure to watch.

This morning my sister and I took dad to the store. We had been going to the store for them. Dad decided he wanted to go and do the shopping. As long as I can remember he has been the one doing the shopping. Mom didn't drive and didn't want to learn. I asked him to use the wheel chair and of course he said no. My sister pushed the cart and I walked behind him and his walker just in case he lost his balance. I figured I wouldn't be able to stop him from falling but he would have a soft landing. We did all right. His leg was sore when we made it home. He still doesn't do his daily exercises. He is making progress I guess.

Let us draw near with a true heart in full assurance of faith, having our hearts sprinkled from an evil conscience, and our bodies washed with pure water. Let us hold fast the profession of our faith without wavering; for he is faithful that promised;
