He Is Faithful That Promised

Let us hold fast the profession of our faith without wavering; (for he is faithful that promised;) Hebrew 10:23

Yea, it is friday! It has been a tiring week. We have had a lot of coworkers out sick. I was able to get extra hours of work, extra pay. I worked in the toddler room yesterday. It was fun but exhausting in a different way from my regular group of threes and fours. I feel taking care of eight one year olds tire me physically and my group of children are emotionally draining. It is hard to explain.

I will enjoy sleeping late in the morning. That is one of my pleasures; getting up when I am good and ready, not because the alarm goes off.

Truly the light is sweet, and a pleasant thing it is for the eyes to behold the sun: But if a man live many years, and rejoice in them all; yet let him remember the days of darkness; for they shall be many. All that cometh is vanity. Rejoice, O young man, in thy youth; and let thy heart cheer thee in the days of thy youth, and walk in the ways of thine heart, and in the sight of thine eyes: but know thou, that for all these things God will bring thee into judgment. Therefore remove sorrow from thy heart, and put away evil from thy flesh: for childhood and youth are vanity.
Ecclesiastes 11:7-10

This month is almost over. Time and days are disappearing fast. I like that when the weekends roll around again but I don't like it when I feel I have accomplished nothing on the days past.

It was very green at work on St. Patrick's Day. Only a few people didn't wear green and I saw every shade of green imaginable. We served green punch at snack time with green icing on cookies and cupcakes. One of the teachers brought green necklaces for the children.

My cough was gone for a short time. Last week I starting coughing again. I did some googling and read about postnasal drip. I firmly believe that is what keeps bothering me. I take a decongestant and it goes away. After a few days of being off the medicine I get the cough again. After reading up on postnasal drip, I found that it was true, drinking lots of water did help. I am a tea drinker, rarely do I drink plain water. The day that I drank water all day and did not take a decongestant the postnasal drip was much better and the coughing was almost nonexistent. When I drink more tea than water the coughing starts. Some of the web sites stated that hot liquids help, but the water makes more of a difference with me.

Eighty degree temperatures are back in Louisiana. I would like to say that is a good thing. But in some ways for me it isn't. That means my electric bill will increase and a lot of mornings I have to drive to work in dense fog. I can only see what is right in front of the car. Of course I always encounter people who think I am driving too slow and they speed around me and scare me. One truck went flying past me in a curve and almost went in a ditch. It would have served him right. I saw his brake lights come on and knew what happened because I knew what area of the road we were on and I was going slow because that sharp curve was ahead.

Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap. For he that soweth to his flesh shall of the flesh reap corruption; but he that soweth to the Spirit shall of the Spirit reap life everlasting. And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not.
Galatians 6:7-9

Just thought I would catch up with my blogging. I was home from work thursday and friday of last week. I had almost lost my voice again, but four days of no talking and of course lots of rest has me feeling lots better. I still cough a little, especially if I get a case of the giggles.

Every classroom has croupy children. We still send a few home each day with fever. Every classroom has children with runny noses. I am hoping to get a break from sickness when summer finally gets here and the pollen is gone. Yes, every thing is green. My little space of the earth is glowing with that beautiful shade of spring green. But with this color comes lots and lots of pollen that causes so many of us to get sick.

I went back to work this morning. My ear has cleared up, my stomach was still a little iffy; I brought some pepto bismal with me and toughed the day out. I came home with a cough I didn't have this morning. I have taken my first dose of generic mucinex.
